This second volume of the book “Current Results of Strength Training Research” presents current facts of strength training research as well as theoretical concepts of strength training. It deals with a variety of different aspects of strength training in order to provide the reader with as much information as possible.
Among others, these topics include single-set versus multiple-set training, repetitions to fatigue to predict 1-RM, methods of strength training in road cycling, psychological ascepts to acute resistance training, effects on exercise and stochastic resonance on neuroplasticity, effects of strength training in children and adoslescents, warming-up effects of stretching exercise, resistance training strategies for increasing muscle mass and strength, as well as other related topics. These topics are being studied all over the world. This is the reason why an international approach was chosen for this book.
Each article presents the conclusions and views of the respective author(s) which are meant to contribute to the discourse on the several aspects of strength training and which might be interesting for athletes, coaches as well as for therapists and scholars.
